Does Norwegian correctional services work? // MINA AND THE RADIO BANDITS
In the documentary Mina and the Robbers, we follow former P3 profile Mina Hadjian, who now runs a radio station for and with prison inmates. Here, we get to know three radio hosts who share their experiences with the correctional system – either as frequent offenders throughout their lives or as inmates for over 10 years.
What is the current status of correctional services today? Imprisonment in Norway has long been referred to as luxurious, yet in recent years, the Ombudsman, the Council of Europe, and the UN have criticized Norwegian prisons for potential human rights violations.
Are criminals actually rehabilitated enough in Norwegian prisons to steer away from new crimes, violence, and terrorism once they are released? Or do we contribute to causing more harm to inmates and society through imprisonment?
