Get ready to meet a real witch! Her name is Kiki, and she is 13 years old – which is exactly the age when young witches have to leave home and learn to get by on their own. As such, Kiki gets on her broom – with her cat Jiji along for the ride – and flies out into the world.

Many things happen to Kiki in the city where she arrives: She moves in with an old baker lady, and gets a job as an airborne delivery girl. She causes some chaos in traffic, has to save a huge blimp that’s about to crash, and she gets to know a boy who has a crush on her.

Kiki’s Delivery Service is based on a popular Japanese children’s book. The film adaptation is produced by the legendary Studio Ghibli, which have also released films such as My Neighbour Totoro (1988) and Spirited Away (2001) – amongst many, many others. This is a colourful and exciting film about trying to fit in somewhere new when you’re different from everyone else. And a bit about what it means to become a teenager. NB: This movie is dubbed into Norwegian.
