Meet Azizpour, Tamba, Sewali, Jørgensen, Vu og Dalva. Or Peiman, Mimmi, Amina, Emil, Catharina and Kidane if you prefer first names. All six are actors at a special training programme at Det Norske Teatret in Oslo. Using their own written monologues as a starting point, they have teamed up with six young directors to make a short film each.

Hence the title Oslo-monologene (the Oslo monologues), a unique film project about being Norwegian with a different cultural background, and a unique opportunity for these six actors to tell Oslo and the world who they really are. Although as these films reveal, controlling every aspect of one’s own identity is far from easy.

These films draw on a variety of sources of inspiration, from hip hop to romantic comedy and home video. And of course we are very happy to have them premiere at Oslo Pix! This screening will be a real happening, so bring your friends along and meet the actors and directors that will conquer screen and state in the years to come.

Oslo-monologene is a collaboration between Det Norske Teatret, the regional film centre Viken, and Oslo 16.
