Lola has always been clear that becoming a mother is not for her. That is until an unexpected pregnancy turns her plans upside down.

To undergo an abortion in Spain, one must go through a legally mandated three-day reflection period. Mamífera follows Lola through these days as she navigates societal pressures and her own emotions regarding the decision, supported by her partner Bruno along the way. This beautiful drama-comedy premiered at the South by Southwest Festival in 2024 and beautifully reflects on women's right to make decisions concerning their own bodies.

Director

Liliana Torres (b. 1980) is a Spanish director, producer, and writer. Mamífera (2024) premiered at the South by Southwest Festival and is the third film in Torres's trilogy exploring family and relationships, following Family Tour (2013) and What Went Wrong? (2021).
