Mina and The Radio Bandits
This heart-wrenching and dramatic documentary follows Mina as she starts a radio station for and with prison inmates.
The screening of Mina and the Radio Bandits will be with Norwegian subtitles.
Mina Hadjian was one of the most popular radio hosts on NRK, but after being fired, she started Røverradioen. The initiative's goal was to give inmates a voice – a new chance and opportunity to do something other than just sit in prison.
On Røverradioen, listeners get to know a wide range of voices: A former drug addict who has now converted to Islam, a former male inmate who now identifies as a woman. And not least, Rune. A restless soul who wants to fight against all the injustices in the world. Mina's idealism and commitment make the boundary between work and private life difficult, especially when faced with an unexpected tragedy.
