Nordic Council Film Prize // Iceland: Touch
In a break between the Covid waves, Kristofer realizes that the age clock is ticking. He feels like embarking on a journey to try to find out what really happened to Miko. His Japanese girlfriend who mysteriously disappeared without a trace from London fifty years earlier.
Touch follows his journey through several decades and continents. It takes us to when he was young and working in a Japanese restaurant in London. What unfolds there is a small romance with the boss's daughter. The events of the past provide fertile ground for Kristofer's current feelings as he leaves Iceland. The film sheds light on everything from Hiroshima to Covid restrictions. This is a bittersweet, sad and cozy film about long-term relationships and the lack of physical touch.
