Director and cinematographer Sean Price Williams is a guest at this year's festival. You can meet him for a conversation with Montages on Wednesday, August 28, at Vega Scene.

American Sean Price Williams is described by The New Yorker’s Richard Brody as «the cinematographer for many of the best and most significant independent films of the past decade, fiction and documentary.» He has collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Alex Ross Perry and the Safdie brothers. The conversation will focus on Sean Price Williams' artistry, extensive interest in film, and his passion for shooting on analog formats. As a cinematographer, he has helped define an entire generation of indie filmmakers and has become one of the foremost in depicting New York. He is also known for his active film advocacy, most recently through the book release 1000 Movies.

Sean Price Williams (f. 1971) is an American cinematographer and director. He has worked as a cinematographer for several independent American filmmakers, among others the Safdie Brothers’ films Heaven Knows What (2014) and Good Time (2017), Alex Ross Perry’s films Queen of Earth (2015) and Her Smell (2018), and Abel Ferrara’s Zeros and Ones. The Sweet East is his debut as a director, and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
